Ye Lassina Coulibaly is a typical example of the musician who has synthesized the traditional Africa and the West. And not only will and desire to break down barriers between musical genres and thereby to raise the public in the same artistic emotion. This fusion has imposed on him as a one and his contemporary and artistic expression.

We find this fusion in the composition of his band, Yan Kadi Faso. It’s a respectful mix where the instruments more “modern” are in the hands of French musicians and the percussion section consists of Africans including Lassina singing, often accompanied by his djembe.

So, his participation in many festivals and appearances with renowned artists in jazz or world music become almost anecdotal, as Lassina is constantly looking for new musical emotions. Current events is permanent. There is no need to create the event to feel alive, his concerts are often different from each other.

His discography, like the musician,has eightCDs, all unique, starting from the purest Burkinabe traditionthrough thejazzworldnot to mentiona repertoirededicatedsolely topercussions.

His artistic skills were also put to the service of music therapy in hospitals with children, adolescents and young adults suffering from various pathologies.
